Indonesian Tourism Journal (ITJ) in the Process of Scopus Indexing

We would like to inform all authors that the Indonesian Tourism Journal (ITJ) is currently in the process of being indexed in Scopus. This is an important step toward enhancing the journal's visibility and accessibility within the academic community.

As part of this process, the submission, validation, and enrichment of the journal’s content are underway. Once the enrichment phase is complete, the journal will be reviewed by the CSAB (Content Selection and Advisory Board) before it can be officially indexed.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing more updates as we progress through this important milestone.

The first article, “The Era of Modernization: Digital Technology Marketing Strategies in Tourist Attraction Development” by Nerisma Eka Putri, Muhammad Azkia Fahmi, Randu Rahmatan Hanif, and Khaidir Ali Junid, highlights how digital technology and marketing approaches are positioned as strategic tools for strengthening destination competitiveness. The second article, “Rethinking Adaptive Governance in Living Cultural Heritage Tourism: Insights from Majapahit Tourist Village, East Java” by Evio Tanti Nanita and Ansh Sharma, reframes cultural heritage tourism through the lens of adaptive governance, emphasizing the need for flexible institutions in sustaining “living” traditions. The third article, “Digitalization of Urban Tourism Innovation for Increasing Local Government Revenue” by Afrinady Rustam, Asrinaldy Asrinaldy, Hendri Koeswara, and Kamaruddin Kamaruddin, discusses how urban tourism digitalization can be leveraged to expand innovation capacity and strengthen local fiscal outcomes. The fourth article, “Adaptation of Coastal Management Policy in Sustainable Tourism with Blue Economy Principles at PPP Mayangan” by Nurul Jannah Lailatul Fitria and Sutarjo Sutarjo, focuses on coastal policy adaptation aligned with blue economy principles to support sustainable tourism governance. The fifth article, “Sustainable Tourism and Community Participation in Indonesia: Comparative Insights from Bali, Yogyakarta, and Labuan Bajo” by Muslim Afandi, Syed Agung Afandi, Rizki Erdayani, and Nail Hidaya Afandi, compares participation dynamics across three major destinations to underline how community engagement shapes sustainability outcomes. The final article, “Matriks SWOT Analysis of Sustainable Tourism Development in Bintan Regency After the Covid-19 Pandemic” by Nur Aisyah Fatmasari, applies a SWOT-based perspective to map post-pandemic conditions and strategic directions for strengthening sustainable tourism development in Bintan Regency.
