11 authors’ countries are coming from Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, and the Netherlands. The article “The Integration of Governance Theory in the Development of Equitable Legal Policies” by Safaruddin Harefa explores how contemporary governance theories can be integrated into legal policy-making to promote fairness and justice, especially in plural societies. “Evaluation of the Performance of the Malang City Regional Government in the Implementation of the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP)” by Dika Putra Wijaya and colleagues assesses how far local government has succeeded in translating performance‐based accountability into measurable governance outcomes. In “Political Governance of Recognition and Agrarian Conflict: A Case Study of the Lom Bangka Tribe in the Post-Extraction Era,” Dwi Jati Marta highlights the struggle for recognition and land rights of an indigenous community in the aftermath of extractive activities, showing the complex interplay between politics, identity, and conflict resolution. Turning to socio-economic development, “The Effect of Education Expenditure, Health Expenditure, Islamic Bank Financing, and Economic Growth on the Human Development Index in Indonesia” by Muhammad Rizki Zakaria and co-authors empirically examines how government spending and Islamic financial instruments contribute to improving human development outcomes. Finally, “Architectural Design of Public Spaces in Realizing Good Urban Governance Based on Community Participation” by Tiara Aditia and her team demonstrates how inclusive design and citizen involvement in managing public spaces can strengthen urban governance and foster a sense of shared ownership in the city.
