Abstract

Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat di wilayah tropis, termasuk Kota Batam, sehingga edukasi pencegahan sejak usia sekolah penting dilakukan untuk memperkuat pemahaman mengenai penularan dan pengendalian vektor. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi pencegahan DBD dan mendeskripsikan pemahaman siswa SD Negeri 008 Bengkong setelah mengikuti penyuluhan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 30 April 2026 dengan melibatkan 53 siswa. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah, media audiovisual, tanya jawab, yel-yel, dan aktivitas interaktif. Materi yang diberikan mencakup pengertian DBD, karakteristik nyamuk Aedes aegypti, gejala, cara penularan, serta langkah pencegahan melalui 3M dan 3M Plus. Evaluasi dilakukan secara deskriptif melalui observasi keterlibatan peserta dan tanya jawab lisan pada akhir kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan seluruh peserta mengikuti kegiatan dan sebagian besar mampu menjelaskan kembali pengertian DBD, ciri nyamuk Aedes aegypti, gejala utama, serta langkah pencegahan melalui 3M. Penggunaan media audiovisual dan aktivitas interaktif membantu mempertahankan perhatian peserta ketika konsentrasi menurun. Namun, karena kegiatan tidak menggunakan pre-test, post-test terstandar, kelompok pembanding, maupun evaluasi tindak lanjut, hasil tidak dapat ditafsirkan sebagai bukti peningkatan pengetahuan atau perubahan perilaku. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi DBD berbasis sekolah layak digunakan sebagai upaya promotif-preventif dan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan program berkala dengan evaluasi yang lebih terukur, sistematis, dan berkelanjutan. Keterlibatan guru dan penggunaan metode yang sesuai karakteristik siswa menjadi unsur untuk mendukung keberlanjutan edukasi. Program selanjutnya disarankan menggunakan pengukuran sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan serta tindak lanjut agar perubahan pengetahuan, retensi informasi, dan praktik pencegahan dapat dinilai secara objektif.
